Bella Poarch was born in the Philippines on February 9, 1997 to her natural Filipino parents. Her maternal grandmother was brought up in the slums of Manila by her parents before she reached 3 years of age. Her adoption was later completed. Her adoptive father is white American with a military background, while her adoptive mother is Filipino. Her mother claims that she and her brother who was adopted when an infant, suffered abuse until they enlisted. Her family and she moved to Texas at the age of 13 due to her father needing bypass surgery. They spent a few weeks living in San Francisco with her aunt. While the physical violence has subsided however, she claimed to have endured psychological abuse from her father at her home. At the age of 18years old, Poarch joined the United States Navy.
