Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. Bell was raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) who is Nurse and Tom Bell, a television news director. She was born in Michigan's Huntington Woods with the family of a Polish mother and father that is German, English Irish, Scottish as well as Irish. Kristen discovered a passion in the performing arts from a young stage. She was just 12 when she went to her first audition. She was successful and got a role in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mom enrolled her with an agency before her 13th birthday. She then appeared in television advertisements and newspaper ads. Also, she began private acting classes around that time. Bell played an uncredited part of Polish Wedding (1998), an upcoming film. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School and was a member of the music club as well as the drama club. In her school's show of The Wizard of Oz, Bell was chosen to play Dorothy. Bell attended New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts for a musical theater course following her graduating. Bell left her college in 2001 after she landed the role of Becky to play Tom Sawyer. Bell made her debut film credit with Pootie Tang during 2001. The scene however, was trimmed and now her only appearance is in the credits at the end. Bell was in the film with Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson, and the Broadway show The Crucible in 2002.
