Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine was born on the 1st June 1974, in Ottawa, Canada. Alanis' Greek name is an feminine form of her father's name, Alan. Her mother's name is Georgia and she has two brothers: Chad and Wade (Alanis' Twin). She first started playing piano and guitar at the age of aged 21. Alanis recorded a 1986 single that was titled Fate Stay With My (b side: Find The Right Man). A Canadian dance-pop singer, she recorded two albums: Alanis (1991), and the album Now Is The Time (1992). At age 18, she moved to Toronto and began working with a variety of musicians and songwriters, but these collaborations did not work. In 1994, she finally came across the perfect collaborator: writer and producer Glen Ballard, who had been working with numerous artists including Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. When she moved to LA, she turned 19 years old. Madonna came out with "Jagged Little Pill" as a single on June 13 the 13th of June, 1995. Alanis discovered a method of creating songs that were completely personal to her and based on her own life experiences. JLP is sold around 30 million copies throughout the globe. It has become the most popular female album and 3rd highest selling album of ever. JLP was released after enduring emotions (she considered not recording an album) in addition to taking the trip to Europe. Alanis Alanis Alanis
